Frequently asked questions
- What changed in SoftBank 1999?
- Compared with 1998, SoftBank 1999 added 173 new emoji and redrew 90 existing designs.
- How is a redesign told apart from a re-release?
- By the artwork itself. Every image is stored with a checksum of its bytes, so a design counts as redrawn only when those bytes differ from 1998. A version number cannot tell you this — most releases ship the same drawings unchanged.
