Frequently asked questions

What changed in Apple iOS 26.4?: Compared with iOS 18.4, Apple iOS 26.4 added 163 new emoji and redrew 791 existing designs.
How is a redesign told apart from a re-release?: By the artwork itself. Every image is stored with a checksum of its bytes, so a design counts as redrawn only when those bytes differ from iOS 18.4. A version number cannot tell you this — most releases ship the same drawings unchanged.
