Added in Apple iOS 10.0

Frequently asked questions

What changed in Apple iOS 10.0?

Compared with iOS 9.3, Apple iOS 10.0 added 304 new emoji and redrew 485 existing designs.

How is a redesign told apart from a re-release?

By the artwork itself. Every image is stored with a checksum of its bytes, so a design counts as redrawn only when those bytes differ from iOS 9.3. A version number cannot tell you this — most releases ship the same drawings unchanged.
