Frequently asked questions
- What changed in Twitter / X Twemoji 2.5?
- Compared with Twemoji 2.4, Twitter / X Twemoji 2.5 added no new emoji and redrew 49 existing designs.
- How is a redesign told apart from a re-release?
- By the artwork itself. Every image is stored with a checksum of its bytes, so a design counts as redrawn only when those bytes differ from Twemoji 2.4. A version number cannot tell you this — most releases ship the same drawings unchanged.
