Frequently asked questions
- What changed in Apple iOS 18.4?
- Compared with iOS 17.4, Apple iOS 18.4 added 8 new emoji and redrew 3 existing designs.
- How is a redesign told apart from a re-release?
- By the artwork itself. Every image is stored with a checksum of its bytes, so a design counts as redrawn only when those bytes differ from iOS 17.4. A version number cannot tell you this — most releases ship the same drawings unchanged.
