Frequently asked questions
- What changed in Apple iOS 13.1?
- Compared with iOS 12.2, Apple iOS 13.1 added no new emoji and redrew 24 existing designs.
- How is a redesign told apart from a re-release?
- By the artwork itself. Every image is stored with a checksum of its bytes, so a design counts as redrawn only when those bytes differ from iOS 12.2. A version number cannot tell you this — most releases ship the same drawings unchanged.
