Added in Facebook 3.0

Frequently asked questions

What changed in Facebook 3.0?

Compared with 2.2.1, Facebook 3.0 added 161 new emoji and redrew 2789 existing designs.

How is a redesign told apart from a re-release?

By the artwork itself. Every image is stored with a checksum of its bytes, so a design counts as redrawn only when those bytes differ from 2.2.1. A version number cannot tell you this — most releases ship the same drawings unchanged.
